If you do use gloome the file is called gloome.ini and is in ~/.config/gloome, for zandronum it's not in. Below that is the same thing for pwads (mods). Within the first few lines there are instructions on how to specify the path to your iwads. Go to ~/.config/gzdoom and edit the zdoom.ini file. ![]() ![]() You can place your iwads anywhere you like but you have to configure GZ to look for them. If you plan to use a music mod that's all mp3 rather than midi you don't need to bother with this bit but the standard Doom music rocks, so you should do this anyway. Note that there are different instructions for getting it running in deamon mode based on whether you use pulse audio or not. To get midi music playback working (for GZ or Gloome) see the wiki page on timidty. I then copied that to /usr/bin to make using it easier but that's up to you. Install the dependencies (except fmod), clone that repo, run Cmake on cmakelists.txt then run make and you should get a runable binary. Instead I now use Gloome which in my experience has been 100% compatible with all the stuff I used to run with GZ but does have some sound issues. ![]() Regular Zdoom (which isn't a dependency of GZ fyi) works fine as does Zandronum. It installs fine but seg faults whenever I try loading any pwads. I installed GZdoom from the aur using yaourt and it's been temperamental at best.
